Our Privacy Promise

We believe your privacy is fundamental. ReadBack is designed with privacy at its core - we don't collect, store, or have access to your personal information or audio content. What happens on your device stays on your device.

Information We DON'T Collect

    No Personal Information: We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information

    No Audio Content: Your text and generated audio never leave your device after processing - we don't store, analyze, or have any record of what you convert to speech

    No User Profiles: We don't create profiles about you or track your behavior across sessions
  • ✕
    No Location Data: We don't access or collect your location information
  • ✕
    No Device Information: We don't collect device identifiers, operating system details, or hardware specifications

What We Do Collect (Very Little)

The only information we track is:

    Usage Tokens: Anonymous usage counts tied to your App Store purchase (or free plan) to prevent service abuse and manage our costs
  • ✓
    Anonymous Purchase ID: A system-generated identifier used solely to track your purchase and credit consumption - this cannot be tied back to you personally
  • ✓
    Apple Analytics: We rely only on Apple's default, privacy-first analytics that are built into iOS - no additional tracking

Third-Party Services

Text-to-Speech Processing

We use a third-party service to convert your text to audio:

  • Your text is sent to our TTS provider only for the duration of processing
  • All data is deleted immediately after processing - this is guaranteed by our TTS provider
  • The provider offers EU-based processing for enhanced privacy protection
  • Neither we nor our TTS provider retain any record of your content after conversion

App Store Payments

All purchases are handled directly through Apple's App Store:

  • We never see your payment information
  • Apple handles all billing and subscription management
  • Purchase validation occurs through Apple's secure systems

Data Storage and Retention

    On our servers: Only anonymous usage tokens (no personal data, ever)

    On your device: All your content, settings, and generated audio remain entirely under your control

    Retention period: Usage tokens are retained only as long as necessary for billing and service delivery

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal information about you, there's nothing for us to:

  • Delete (we don't have your personal data)
  • Correct (we don't store personal information that could be incorrect)
  • Export (your data stays on your device where you control it)

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above. Given our privacy-first design, any changes will only strengthen our privacy protections, never weaken them.
